Business community members could bring in a gift and nominate another to donate.
McKillop said more than 20 businesses participated, along with farm families and other community members.
“I don’t think we really expected it to be this big,” McKillop said.
Most of the donations were taken to the food bank Dec. 16.

The annual Christmas Lite Up event, organized by the Lite Up Committee, featured sleigh rides, a fire and visits from Santa Claus and other familiar holiday figures. It ran Dec. 2.
